Rock Band 3 - First Look
Confirmed: Keyboard
Confirmed: The Doors
Confirmed: Drop-in and drop-out play in any mode, and it looks like the ability to change difficulties mid-song
Not Quite Confirmed, Because the Video Cuts Off: What They're Doing with DLC, although Wikipedia says all DLC and on-disc songs from prior games are playable in RB3
More info on Wikipedia includes details on the keyboard, some notes about game play and the beginnings of the song list, which includes Huey Lewis & The News, Night Ranger and Joan Jett, among others.
I'm very excited by the possibilities here.

I've seen a few solos more complex and difficult
...but Hangar 18 from Rust in Peace has no less than EIGHT DIFFERENT FUCKING GUITAR SOLOS in Rock Band!
This dude kinda makes the songs sound like ass despite getting 5 stars, and if you have any curiosity about the song itself, you should just youtube a non-rockband-copy ...but if you wanna double check my count:

Otis Redding on Rock Band
Hells yeah. This week's DLC (on Tuesday):
Otis Redding – “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” +
Otis Redding – “Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song)” +
Otis Redding – “I’m Sick Y’all” +
Otis Redding – “I’ve Got Dreams to Remember” +
Otis Redding – “Love Man”
All Time Low – “Weightless”
Alphabeat –“Fascination” +
Brian Setzer – “Stray Cat Strut” +
The Chemical Brothers – “Let Forever Be” +
I wish there was "Try A Little Tenderness," one of my favorites, but I'll definitely be picking up the whole pack. I'll also definitely pick up "Stray Cat Strut" with hopes of more Setzer in the future.

What I'm Thankful For:
Internet Snark

Muppets
Zooey Deschanel (and to a lesser extent, Joseph Gordon Levitt)
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" finally on Rock Band (I'd be thankful for Night Ranger, too, but they left off "Sister Christian." What. The. Fuck. I'm not paying for Night Ranger's other songs, I'm only paying to play their cheesiest anthem ever.)
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Everything You Need to Know (And Lots You Don't) About Lego Rock Band
My interest in Lego Rock Band was pretty low, but then I saw two important things:
1) The set list
2) You can import the set list to Rock Band 2
So now I'm definitely thinking about getting it, although maybe some kind of pool our cash, buy one copy so we can all use the DLC might be a good plan. Anyway, links and pics!
A comparison of the "Duke of Gravity" stand-in character in Rock Band 2 and Lego Rock Band:

Info on the export function ($9.99 fee, unfortunately)
The Set List (And below are the ones I'd actually buy as DLC... yes, I'm aware that some/most are cheesy... that's the fun. That's enough songs to put this on my radar)
* Blink-182 – “Aliens Exist”
* Blur – “Song 2”
* Bon Jovi – “You Give Love a Bad Name”
* Bryan Adams – “Summer of 69”
* Carl Douglas – “Kung Fu Fighting”
* Counting Crows – “Accidentally in Love”
* David Bowie – “Let’s Dance”
* Elton John – “Crocodile Rock”
* Europe – “The Final Countdown”
* Everlife – “Real Wild Child”
* Foo Fighters – “Breakout”
* Good Charlotte – “Girls & Boys”
* Jackson 5 – “I Want You Back”
* Jimi Hendrix – “Fire”
* Katrina & The Waves – “Walking on Sunshine”
* The Police – “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”
* Queen – “We Are The Champions”
* Queen – “We Will Rock You”
* Rascal Flatts – “Life is a Highway”
* Ray Parker Jr. – “Ghostbusters”
* Spin Doctors – “Two Princes”
* Sum 41 – “In Too Deep”
* Tom Petty – “Free Fallin”

Rock Band 3(?) DLC Wishlist
When we get downloadable content for a version of Rock Band that supports multi-vocalist harmonizing like Beatles Rock Band... Here is my initial wishlist.
Queen - We Are the Champions (maybe even include the B&W leotard as a character costume?)
Queen - Princes of the Universe
The Eagles - Hotel California
Jackson Five - ABC
Jackson Five - I Want You Back
The Mamas & THe Papas - California Dreaming
Bad Religion - 21st Century Digital Boy (or just about anything from Bad Religion, Sum 41, Pennywise, NoFX... but not Blink 182 :P )
System of a Down - Chop Suey (or just about anything from SoaD, they harmonize on almost every track)
System of a Down - Lonely Day

More Beatles Rock Band
D3 all up in your post: The video was taken down, but here's one that still works.
This is the opening cinematic, which I thought was just as cool as the gameplay trailer.

Beatles Rock Band 9/9/09
Looks fabulous. I'm a little disappointed that it's not just a huge song pack, but when you see the trailer you see all the advantages of making it its own game. Also: harmonizing voice parts! Fuck yeah.

It's Jimmy Eat World and Alt Country week. I've got YouTube links embedded for the curious, though alas, I could only find live versions of some, many of those with dubious accoustics as a result.
The tracks:
I may be the only one here doing it, but I'm likely to download most or all of the alt country tunes. Some I notably like and the others sounds interesting (even though the live YouTube stuff has dodgy as hell audio), but I also just want support the genre for future releases.
So there ya go.

XBOX NIGHT - TUESDAY!
Hey XBox peeps:
Left 4 Dead on Tuesday night, starting around 8:30... Nick, Ben, Nate, maybe we can get all four of us together?
Also Rock Band 2 with Fratellis on Tuesday night, starting around 10-ish or whenever Dave gets on. I definitely want to sing on these, but I wouldn't mind playing guitar after that. Cindy, Dave, any preferences on instrument? Ben, any plans to pick up the Fratellis tracks and rock out with us?

ROCK BAND CLUB - FEBRUARY 10TH, 2009
Aw hells yeah. This is the DLC I was waiting for basically since I got the game, and I didn't really think we'd ever get it.
Anyway, next Tuesday we got:
The Fratellis - Creeping Up the Back Stairs
The Fratellis - Flathead
The Fratellis - Henrietta
All tracks are original master recordings.
These tracks will be $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) a piece, or $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points) for the full 3 pack.
I'll be getting all three, obviously. Oh, and Dave and I aren't doing full-on reorders this Saturday due to Diamond's warehouse move, so we'll probably be on more like 10:00 or 10:30 instead of 11:00 or 11:30 this Saturday.
Who's gettin' what?

Rock Band Club - February 3rd, 2009
I skipped posting new stuff for this week because it was all Grateful Dead tracks and I don't think there're any big fans in this crowd (I did buy "Fire on the Mountain", though; I got a little love).
Anyway, next Tuesday we got:
I'll research later, but the only two I immediately recognize are "Boys are Back in Town" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot." Kinda wish "Boys" was the studio cut, but oh well. Definitely those two, we'll see about the others.
