"Jack" cosplay

One of my favorite recruits in MASS EFFECT 2 is the tattooed sociopath, Jack. She's got a great look, and while Google imaging her to show Randy what she looked like, I came across one of the most well done cosplays I've ever seen. Not only does this girl look like Jack, but she devised means to replicate all of Jack's elaborate tattoos and surgical scars.

First, here's a model of the character from the game:

Not the best shot (it's surprisingly tough to find good ones) but you can get the basic look from it. And here's the cosplay chick, pretty much looking like she stepped right off the screen:

You can see by the folds near the elbow in the last one that she actually made a thin bodysuit for the tattoos. She documents the process HERE

So, Uh... My So Called Life

Is actually legitimately good, or at least the opening episode was.

I watched the opening episode from netflix streaming on a lark (and because I remember when it was on, my 16 year old self really wanting to fuck Angela and Rayanne silly) and really liked the first episode. The entire series is 19 episodes and available on netflix streaming. I liked it so much that I did an imdb search from my phone while I was watching it.

It shares writers with:

The Wonder Years
Thirtysomething
Friday Night Lights

It shares directors with:

Friday Night Lights
Veronica Mars
Breaking Bad
Lone Star
Californication
The Shield
Thirtysomething
The West Wing
Malcolm in the Middle

What it says...

somewhat risque for work, perhaps.

(edited to make link work)

I have to think it's a gag...

...'cause if it's real, we all gonna die.

Two things:
1) The first five seconds reveal a fascinating secret about one of our own fellow bloggers!

2) It's worth watching all the way through, but watch it with a friend so you can MST3K it.

A dramatic reading...

of "The Petals Fall Twice" - erotica written by Chip Zdarsky. NSFW. oh, no, NS at all.

Lest the blog become too classy...

Hot chicks in Batman shirts

Probably NSFW.

And don't be getting snooty about what is and isn't hot - it's important to have variety in our objectification of women :)

The gift of Selma Blair hotness

Another blog holiday rerun: Selma Blair and The Office's Rainn Wilson inverting "Baby It's Cold Outside":

Shadow Over Innsmouth

Came across some surprisingly effective fan art for Lovecraft's famous tale of sea creatures interbreeding with the residents of a coastal village. It's a bit like a creepy children's book as imaged here.

Girl quits job on dry erase board

My natural skepticism makes me assume these things are staged, but her presentation and facial expressions are so awesome I hope this one is true.

JUST FOLLOW THE LINK :)

Remember The Flobots?

They had that song that got played to the point I wanted to eat a pistol. It was a good song, really, it's just that no song should be played more than 12 times a day (kinda like how I used to like Weezer before the shop's Pandora stations made me want to never hear 'em again). Ya know, this video that was on the blog back in the day with the DMZ-esque vibe.

Well, after I gave 'em a rest for a while, I started up a last fm station for them on my xbox, and as it turns out, they're legitimately good. It also doesn't hurt that there's a smoking hot chick in the group.

Check out this track, "Mayday" and the the hot chick in the pic below.

NSFW is putting it mildly...

"Audio excerpts" of Sarah Palin's book as heard on Howard Stern...

(it's a little overlong, but there are some awesomely horrible gems even a little ways into it)

GIF test

Been looking for a quick and easy site to host GIFs and D3 tells me tinypic works. And he's right!

So for Randy, here's Felicia Day:

The Hot List - Randy

I applaud Nick's decision to bring back the Hot List, and present my entries. Remember, folks... it's mandatory. The tag says so. I noticed while doing this that my taste tends to run toward "cute" rather than "hot," but that may be splitting hairs.

1. Mary Louise Parker
This is based largely on her performance in Weeds, where she's a terrible, terrible mother but also likeable, funny, sardonic and amazingly sexy.

2. Alison Brie
Again, this is based as much on the personality in Community, which is probably entirely the character and not really the actress, but I also just find her very cute.

3. Alyson Hanigan
I've always loved Alyson Hannigan, and you can find hottied-up pictures of her around the web, but I've liked her even more lately. Having a baby really agreed with her, and she's gotten a lot curvier, and no less cute, and I like what little I've seen of her "real" personality on Twitter as well as the character she plays on How I Met Your Mother. So my crush is really on Lily Aldrin more than Alyson.

4. Felicia Day
Cute, geeky, redhead... what's not to love?

5. Yvonne Strahovski
The one exception to my "cute, not hot" guideline, as Yvonne (from Chuck) is just straight-up hot.

The Hot List - Dave

In no particular order...

Emma Stone
She played hottie bad girl, Wichita, in Zombieland, and I believe her center of hottie power is her bangs. And slutty eye shadow.

Kristen Ritter
Whoa, bangs again - I'm sensing a trend. She was the lean, gothy, recovering addict girlfriend of Jesse Pinkman on the latest season of Breaking Bad.

Katie Featherston
To film audiences, she's the girl who was terrorized in Paranormal Activity. To guy film audiences, she's the BUSTY GIRL who spent a lot of time being terrorized IN HER UNDERWEAR in Paranormal Activity. There aren't any hottie pictures of her online because she appears to be just a normal girl (that's the appeal), but I screencapped a scene with cleavage, so...yay!

Kristen Schaal
That's right, Mel from Flight of the Conchords. By no means traditional, but there's something about her mousy obsessiveness that can't help but be cute. Kristen Schaal - makin' nasal sexy.

Renee Zellweger
I watched Chicago a few months ago and I've been pining for her ever since. She reached for the gun...and my heart! Now I don't think I've ever seen her in any other movies, so this might be more of a vote for a character than the actress. She really pulls off the slinky, ditsy, kind-of-sleazy 30s look in Chicago.

TRICK 'R TREAT

And so, the Halloween Blogstravaganza returns! Once again, I'm shooting for at least one scaaaaaaary-themed post a day till Halloween, and everyone's invited to join in. Don't be shy. I know you're all freaks.

First up, because Nate was just talking about how the movie Trick 'R Treat is having trouble marketing itself, is the creepy little animated short that inspired it. I've attached the trailer for the movie itself afterwards. Note to Anna Paquin fetishists: this movie features Anna Paquin.

Bikini Cinema presents: Star Wars

Should be funnier, but it's got its moments:
