The unfunniest blog post ever

Okay, I know we don't usually do the serious thing here on the blog, but I came across an interview on NPR I thought was pretty remarkable. In it, best interviewer ever, Terry Gross, talks to comedian Robert Shimmel about surviving cancer. I've never heard Shimmel's comedy before but I found him pretty spellbinding in his frankness and there actually is some funny shit in there - including the rivalry between John Tesh and Yanni!

Interested in something different? Give it a shot.

Maybe something sincere tomorrow...

...but one last bit of snark before the clock tolls midnight. I already subjected Cindy to this, and she pronounced the video worse than the actual song.

Here it is...the no-budget tearjerker...

A film student project based on the "Christmas Shoes" song:

I was telling Randy about that shit-o "Christmas Shoes" song...

...and somehow he'd managed to make it through life without ever seeing it, the lucky bastard. Well I'm here to fix things.

First, I present the vile song itself, with a video featuring scenes from the Rob Lowe movie they based on it. Man up and tough it out, people! It'll help you to better enjoy the second video I'm posting...

...and here we have comedian Patton Oswalt eviscerating the song:

Still haven't had enough Christmas Shoes? May I suggest meditating on the cover of the DVD of the movie! Rob looks a bit like a pedophile sizing up his quarry, doesn't he?

Silver Surfer Spinoff in the Works

According to L.A. Times:

"Feeling bullish on the eve of the release of its "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," Fox has already put a feature spinoff into development that will star the enigmatic Surfer,"

Based on the trailer and the look of the Surfer, to this I say "woohoo!" and then you read the rest of the sentence:

"...with J. Michael Straczynski currently crafting the screenplay."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Big screen space cancer, here we come!
