Scott Pilgrim vs. The Matrix

Wasn't sure about this one until about the one minute mark, but once they make use of the rave scene from Matrix 2, it's pretty fun.

Holy shit, MORTAL KOMBAT by way of SE7EN

Nobody seems to know quite what this is yet, but it looks like a SE7EN-style overhaul of Mortal Kombat - either the set-up for a new game franchise or a teaser for an upcoming movie. Either way, it's surprisingly twisted and gory and it's got one really well-staged fight.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Trailer's up.

D3 sez - Here's another try at the embedding, but NBC seems to be aggressively pulling them.

The other Avatar trailer...

Short trailer for The Last Airbender, slated to run during the Superbowl. I haven't seen much of the cartoon, but this looks kinda neat.

Arkham Asylum gameplay vid

I posted the trailer for this a few weeks back, but they just released a vid of in-game stealth action and it looks pretty great to me (in spite of the Brit narrator who sounds like a nineteen-year-old soccer hooligan).

I had trouble embedding it, but the link is HERE, and if anyone can make it embed, please just edit it in.

Edited - Just had to tell Blogger to ignore whatever coding flaws it thought it was seeing.

No Way It'll Be As Good As The Comic, But...

It's kind of a fun trailer. Includes one of my favorite scenes from the first issue, with the megaphone.

The Best Thing To Come Out of the Writers' Strike

OK, *maybe* Dr. Horrible is the best thing, but this is close. Conan O'Brien, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's "Who Made Mike Huckabee" feud comes to a boil. It's long, but if you're a fan of any of those three guys, it's worth it.

If only it were real...

Bruce Lee plays ping pong with nunchuks:

"He carries two guns."

"One to stop trouble...and one to MAKE trouble."

Kick-ass (and highly quotable) red band trailer for BLACK DYNAMITE, a full-on throwback to 70s blaxploitation films:

I know Dave's been in Street Fighter mode...

and so have I, so when I saw this clip from the Jackie Chan movie City Hunter I had to post it.

Hello Movie Night

I can't seem to find a way to embed the videos, but you must click this link to watch a dominatrix nun with brass knuckles cage-fighting a convict in the far flung future of 2099, where religion rules over all.

Jason Murphy, this means you especially.

Belated thanks to Jason Murphy for the Flying Guillotine clip

Just watched. Ten kinds of cool. And somehow I've made it through life without seeing that flick, so Netflix and me are gonna correct that error.

As thanks, I give an early screenshot of Street Fighter 4...

I believe it's supposed to be 3D, but obviously packing some seriously hand-drawn texture-mapping, and still staged with the sideview approach.

Oh, and here's the intro video...

Yoga Flame!

For you Street Fighter fans, I'm convinced that this guy served as the inspiration for Dhalsim.

Exploitation or triumph of the human spirit?

For those who don't follow Dave's Long Box on the sidebar, may I present Hong Kong's 1979 masterpiece...

CRIPPLED MASTERS!

Chainsaw Fu

Look for Chow Yun Fat's cameo at the end!
