Holiday music you (perhaps) wouldn't be embarassed to be caught listening to

"Christmas Number One" / The Black Arts

"Another Christmas at Home" / Eux Autres

"I Wish it Was Christmas Today" / Julian Casablancas (of The Strokes)

*amusing trivia: yes, this song is from SNL

The music in the RUN JESUS RUN video game...

It was catchy and familiar, so I browsed the YouTube comments to find out what it was. And lo, it's an 8-bit version of the awesome "Jesus is My Friend," the dorkiest ska song of all time. I think I posted this on the blog before, but it's so amazing it deserves a re-post.

Get ready to rock, sinners.

"It Might Get Loud"

Just watched this documentary, a meeting of the minds to talk up the history of the electric guitar (and rock out on it) - featuring Jack White, Jimmy Page and (somewhat overshadowed) The Edge. Definitely a good time. Original trailer is HERE.

Today, though, I just figured to post this charming scene of Jimmy Page reminiscing about the song that changed everything for him - surf classic "Rumble":

Looks at his eyes twinkle when he starts air guitaring to it. It's sweet.

Acapella Metal

Van Cantu's cover of Metallica's Battery

Yankee Rose - En Espanol

You're welcome.

Doors documentary

Johnny Depp narrates. Here da trailer:

Are you ready to fuckin' rock?

For a mere $75+ you can experience the brilliance of Hall & Oates on March 27th, celebrating the second anniversary of The Long Center!

DETAILS HERE for our many fans of Hall and/or Oates.

(and yes, they can see you through the computer monitor)

Dinosaucers!

We never got around to posting this, did we, D3?

Surely one of the greatest cartoon openings of all time.

Hot List - D3's Rock & Roll Edition

This isn't in any particular order; it's not even a top five. This is just "Five Mostly Randomly Selected Hot Chicks in Rock & Roll."

Torry Castellano - Drummer for The Donnas
Hottest Donna. Something about sexual forwardness of their songs...

Otep Shamaya - Vocalist for Otep
Scary impressive death-metal-ish scream for a girl... hell for a guy.

Kelly Ogden - Vocalist and Bassist for The Dollyrots
Randy, I actually think you'll dig this band; they're kinda pop-punk; you should check 'em out.

Joan Jett - Vocalist for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Ok, so not as hot as several others that could have made this list... but it's Joan Fucking Jett. You can't do a "Hot Chicks of Rock" without Joan Fucking Jett. Oh, and she''s kinda like Madonna in that she's hotter now that she's older.

Cristina Scabbia - Vocalist for Lacuna Coil
Don't know much about this one. Discovered the group through Rock Band. I DO know she's hot, though.

Lego Rock Band: Ghostbusters

We're probably on the cusp of re-setting the blog back to normal, but as long as the Halloween theme is up...

Lego Rock Band in action:

I think I'll be happy enough to just import the tracks to regular Rock Band, but the themed Lego stuff is kinda fun. If only there was death metal...

Chorus Hero

Dig it man.

mp3 of "The Ballad of G.I. JOE"

It's one'a them free fileshare sites, so I won't promise you won't get a virus, but it was first linked by Cth on the Benbo, and he's usually cautious about such stuff. I downloaded it and...well, no death-virus so far :)
