Dante's Inferno: The Video Game
Has anyone played the demo for this yet? It's in the style of God of War and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, where you fight off hordes of enemies, earn lots of combos, weaken big bosses with normal attacks, and eventually take them out in cinematic sequences by pressing certain buttons when prompted.
Lame, right? Naw, man.
I just played the demo, and for all that it's derivative in gameplay, it was WILDLY ENTERTAINING. It's metal beyond all games ever. It's got gore, nudity, and Heavy Metal-style animated sequences. It's unbelievably crass in how it weds the epic poem with brutally awesome combat, but wed them it does...right down to the inclusion of lurid scenes of a nude Beatrice and a cooly creepy visualization of Dante's guide, Virgil.
The demo starts out pedestrian but by the end I wanted to buy the game. And I don't even usually like these kinds of games! Increasingly stunning visuals, too. Genuinely disturbing.
Hot List - D3's Rock & Roll Edition
This isn't in any particular order; it's not even a top five. This is just "Five Mostly Randomly Selected Hot Chicks in Rock & Roll."
Torry Castellano - Drummer for The Donnas
Hottest Donna. Something about sexual forwardness of their songs...

Otep Shamaya - Vocalist for Otep
Scary impressive death-metal-ish scream for a girl... hell for a guy.

Kelly Ogden - Vocalist and Bassist for The Dollyrots
Randy, I actually think you'll dig this band; they're kinda pop-punk; you should check 'em out.

Joan Jett - Vocalist for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Ok, so not as hot as several others that could have made this list... but it's Joan Fucking Jett. You can't do a "Hot Chicks of Rock" without Joan Fucking Jett. Oh, and she''s kinda like Madonna in that she's hotter now that she's older.

Cristina Scabbia - Vocalist for Lacuna Coil
Don't know much about this one. Discovered the group through Rock Band. I DO know she's hot, though.

Full TERMINATOR: SALVATION trailer
Seems hit and miss, but there're possibilities:
Trailer here. The motorcycle Terminators actually look kind of cool.

New Terminators
There's a line in the teaser for the next Terminator flick, something like, "The future didn't happen the way my mother said it would." Seems like time-travel wonkiness has altered the rise of Skynet, in effect giving the writers the opportunity to break from the predistined beats of James Cameron's "Judgement Day." NOW...we know it'll never live up to the first two, but Christian Bale as John Connor seems cool, and these just-leaked concept art pieces do kick some ass:
*EDIT: meant to add that these look even cooler when biggie-sized. Click 'em!
Early Model Terminator (I'm told)

This is mostly for Chris and D3...
but I ordered Fratello Metallo's album after seeing the news bit about him here on the blog. It came today, and it rocks. Even if it is in Italian.

I'm hardcore... I guess?
What genre of Metal are you?
My Results:

Hardcore Metal Bands like Walls of Jericho, Hatebreed, Bury Your Dead, and Remembering Never. Music is: Thunderous and powerful music that speaks to street smarts and about persevering. You are an aggressive individual who has many opinions that others find to be a bit much to handle. When these beliefs are called into question, you’d sooner pick a fight than argue about them intellectually. You strive for strength through unity and perseverance through adversity.

Let's get mellow.
Yes, friends, there was a time when the mighty terrorist organization, Cobra, tried to take over the world with 80s hair metal. Dare you risk falling under their trance?
Cold Slither takes the stage!
Edit: forgot to credit Nick with finding this one. Nick, I dub you honorary stage manager for Cold Slither. Congratulations?

Thor, God of Metal
Totally stolen from Dave's Long Box. The music is Slayer's Raining Blood, by the way. Non-metalheads can cry in a corner.
Awesomely Awful Metal!!!
"Through the Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce (The kings of cheeseball metal)
Metallica's "Battery" covered by Van Canto (Nearly acapella metal group consisting of a drummer and 5 singers, watch for the super bad vocal guitar solo. Anybody surprised they're from Germany?)
"Stumped" by Goblin Cock (Black hooded heavy metal comic geeks, post apocalyptic warrior softball girls, and the ever present robot threat)
