A Bit Ballsier Than I Expected

I knew they were winding up to go after them, but this borders on taunting, lol. It starts out pretty yawn-tastic, then abruptly makes a total u-turn at the last second (sound is important).

This is what you find

When you spend too much time researching for your Terminator RPG game

New Terminators

There's a line in the teaser for the next Terminator flick, something like, "The future didn't happen the way my mother said it would." Seems like time-travel wonkiness has altered the rise of Skynet, in effect giving the writers the opportunity to break from the predistined beats of James Cameron's "Judgement Day." NOW...we know it'll never live up to the first two, but Christian Bale as John Connor seems cool, and these just-leaked concept art pieces do kick some ass:

*EDIT: meant to add that these look even cooler when biggie-sized. Click 'em!

Early Model Terminator (I'm told)

Steampunk Star Wars

Star Wars is probably the most common property to get fitted with Steampunk trappings, but it never gets old to me:

The Future Ain't What It Used To Be

I love this stuff.

From a series of 1910 French postcards anticipating life in the year 2000...

Gentleman's Duel

Kinda long, at 7 minutes, but worth it. One of the director/designers is Francisco Ruiz, who I believe might be the same guy as Francisco Ruiz Velasco, of the Dark Horse comic Battlegods.

Star Wars Steampunk Desktops

The artist who created the Steampunk Star Wars has turned them into desktops. So while we all await the creation of the "Hobo With a Shotgun" Windows theme, we can have Star Wars Steampunk on our computers.

Singapore: Will pay for blood-thirsty murderbots

I found this guy's blog through a link to his cool-as-hell reimagining of Star Wars as a steampunk saga... but it was this post that cracked me the hell up. Worth a read.

It is also home to this gem:
It's common knowledge that David wants to replace we Dragon's Lair employees with pneumatic robots, but today I actually rummaged around his office and found some of his design plans!

Behold, his perfect employees!

***********

"Ah, now that's a handsome robot, and my post-Revolution general's uniform is rather fetching as well!"

"Why spend money on lighting when your powerful Tesla headlamp illuminates my coffers? Ha ha!"

"I call it the Dragon Wagon Mark IV."

"Destroy the remaining human employees, my pretty! I think I saw Nick behind that table - DESTROY!"

"Ah, my crowning achievement. Kneel, Brad from Austin Books! KNEEL!"

"Bully!"
