Very clever bit of fun.

Dang, one more that escaped my notice when it originally aired...

First seven minutes of Speed Racer
More and more I'm thinking this is a rental flick. Not only is it getting pretty rough reviews, it risks undercutting its coked-up energy by clocking in at over two hours (ouch).
Nevertheless, a fun enough intro:

Speed Racer Trailer

Remember this flick? Super-big-budget. Rated G. Directed by the Wachowski Brothers. Meant to look like a live-action cartoon.
Well, my "Tim Burton's Willy Wonka" alarm is going off a little bit, but it still looks like adrenaline-infused, stupid-fun to me:
Click here. Watch the Hi-Def version if your computer can handle it.
All-star cast reminder:
Speed Racer = some dude
Pops Racer = John Goodman
Mom Racer = Susan Sarandon
Racer X = Matthew Fox
Trixie = Christina Ricci

Here Comes Speed Racer!
The pending Speed Racer movie is probably already doomed by its excess, but for some reason, I kind of want it to succeed. The salient facts:
*Wachowski Brothers to direct. Can they make a comeback?
*Rating remored to be G!
*The star-studded cast:
-Some up-and-comer as Speed
-Christina Ricci as Trixie
-John Goodman as Pops
-Susan Sarandon as Mom Racer
-Matthew (Lost) Fox as Racer X
Anyway, to follow through on the Speed Racer theme, check out this awesomely awesome Speed parody from Dexter's Lab. I didn't even like Dexter's Lab on account of that kid's voice making me want to kill him, but DAMN, this is a good parody:
