Badass trailer for the upcoming DC Online game
See, this is why they need to ease back on live action superheroes and do a fully CGI movie:
Dante's Inferno: The Video Game
Has anyone played the demo for this yet? It's in the style of God of War and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, where you fight off hordes of enemies, earn lots of combos, weaken big bosses with normal attacks, and eventually take them out in cinematic sequences by pressing certain buttons when prompted.
Lame, right? Naw, man.
I just played the demo, and for all that it's derivative in gameplay, it was WILDLY ENTERTAINING. It's metal beyond all games ever. It's got gore, nudity, and Heavy Metal-style animated sequences. It's unbelievably crass in how it weds the epic poem with brutally awesome combat, but wed them it does...right down to the inclusion of lurid scenes of a nude Beatrice and a cooly creepy visualization of Dante's guide, Virgil.
The demo starts out pedestrian but by the end I wanted to buy the game. And I don't even usually like these kinds of games! Increasingly stunning visuals, too. Genuinely disturbing.
Maybe the Mayans Knew What They Were Talking About?

I saw this floating around some message boards. It seems there is somewhat wide spread talk about a draft Palin/Beck movement among the Tea Party Republicans. So much so, that Palin even mentioned it herself recently.
What might make this funny and not scary? If we were talking about Beck the musician instead of Glen Beck :D

Chinese Dwarves Prepare for War on Big Folk

Chinese dwarves set up their own village
A community of dwarves has set up its own village to escape discrimination from normal sized people.
Everyone in the mountain commune in Kunming, southern China, must be under 4ft 3ins tall - and they run their own police force and fire brigade from their 120 residents.
Now the group has turned itself into a tourist attraction by building mushroom houses and living and dressing like fairy tale characters.
'As small people we are used to being pushed around and exploited by big people. But here there aren't any big people and everything we do is for us,' said spokesman Fu Tien.

Post-Apocalypse is the New Zombies
Trailer here for the upcoming Denzel Washington/Gary Oldman post-apocalypse flick. I'm not really digging it based on the too-slick action trailer, but dammit, it's a big budget post-apocalypse movie and it seems like it should be on the blog.
