Mario Retirement Home:

OMG, nostalgia overload

A guy made a ton of recordings of the ambient sounds of video game arcades from 1984-1988. Dare to revisit the heyday of the arcade, with its awesomely tinny sounds and beggar children trying to tell you how to get past certain levels...

Cartoons!!

Here are a couple clips of the latest superhero cartoons, Brave and the Bold and Spectacular Spider-Man. Turns out there is life after Batman: The Animated Series after all.

Well...Now I have to buy this too

I have a huge man-crush for Metallica, and really just the prospect of playing some of the their best work is more than enough to make me pick this up.

Still, the video didn't hurt.

New Terminators

There's a line in the teaser for the next Terminator flick, something like, "The future didn't happen the way my mother said it would." Seems like time-travel wonkiness has altered the rise of Skynet, in effect giving the writers the opportunity to break from the predistined beats of James Cameron's "Judgement Day." NOW...we know it'll never live up to the first two, but Christian Bale as John Connor seems cool, and these just-leaked concept art pieces do kick some ass:

*EDIT: meant to add that these look even cooler when biggie-sized. Click 'em!

Early Model Terminator (I'm told)

Dawn of the Dead

I know we've all seen the 2004 remake. Fantastic movie. So good that I'm linking to the cool, intro preview they released to the internet before the movie - a slightly pared down version of the opening five minutes. I was pretty skeptical at the time, but this convinced me I needed to see this movie (I'd embed the vid, but they disabled embedding - bastards!)

These next guys didn't, though. Here's the credit sequence featuring awesome musical accompaniment by Johnny Cash:

And lastly, a sing-a-long! Here's the mall survivors montage sequence with Richard Cheese's lounge cover of "Down with the Sickness," complete with lyrics AND a minor bit of nudity that YouTube hasn't caught yet!

I think they may be smarter than me.

I hate to inadvertently bring edumacation to the blog, but the wily smarts of these crows impressed me so much I must:

I found my folder of desktops I drew instead of working while at DL... Most I remembered-- this one I had completely forgotten about. Remember with me and pity me:
