Dan is correct. By a weird coincidence, I just watched this movie yesterday. Believe it or not, it was recently released as a Criterion edition. Criterion describes it as "an episode of Scooby-Doo as directed by Mario Bava" and "a modern masterpiece of le cinema du WTF?!" Both are apt.
I've been hearing about that movie for a while, and I don't think the film makes much more sense than the trailer.
