Neato

Google opens their ebook store. There's Amazon's Kindle store and B&N's Nook store already, but there's one thing that makes Google's store different, and radder.

Openness of platform. Google doesn't have a real interest in where you read your book. PC, Mac, Android, iPhone/iPad, on a Nook, on a bunch of Sony Readers, and dundundun... a website based reader for when you aren't at one of your devices/computers with an app installed. This is the coolest feature in my book.

  1. I'm not seeing the "open" argument here. The books still have DRM. John Gruber says it better.

  2. I meant open as a synonym for variety, not in its usual software specific sense. My bad.
