So it turns out...

...that Poland has a tradition of amazing graphic design to their movie posters. Seems to me they've got more in common with 50s and 60s book and magazine design than America's literalist/realist movie posters. They're very artsy and cool and weird. Go see them!

    super neat. i heard a story about this on the radio a while back - not the best medium for the subject matter, but...can't recall if it was Poland specifically or just Europe in general but a dude had researched and written a book about it. cool stuff - much more art than advertising, imho. they try to capture the mood of the film rather than just show a pic of who is in it.

    Yeah, some of the choices are crazy. I mean, they had a cool and iconic Critters poster!

    (I saw Critters in the theater as a kid)
