A few years ago, a creative group of Lovecraft fans put together a silent film based on his most famous work, The Call of Cthulhu. I'd embed a YouTube trailer, but there's a weird sound glitch on it, so you're gonna have to take the one baby step of clicking here to view a Quicktime version. There's no doubt it has a slight campiness to it, but not by virtue of its content so much as the fact that silent films simply look a touch campy viewed in a modern context.
All told it's a remarkably faithful adaptation.
