By the way, you know their flattops were prosthetics, right? That's actually true. At least for the first few years, when old-school f/x guru Ray Hauryhausen was animating them. Later his stop-motion armatures were replaced with CGI flattops under the supervision of James Cameron's fledgling f/x house, Digital Domain.
